Our Services

Our Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) offers Joint-Commission-accredited, intensive, comprehensive residential treatment to young people whose needs cannot be met in community settings. PRTF provides young people with structured, relationship-focused treatment through a residential therapeutic model.

Our facilities sit on a six-acre campus in eastern North Carolina. The program consists of two 12-bed facilities and one 18-bed facility.

Residential Services

All residents reside on our six-acre campus with their own individual bedrooms.
Each space is supervised by a team of highly trained staff with 24/7 supervision to ensure residents’ safety and well-being.
Our team provides mentorship, symptom monitoring and management, person-centered goal setting, self-direction and moral development to residents.

Therapeutic Services

We offer a wide range of clinical and therapeutic services, including:

- Group and family therapy using evidence-based therapies, delivered under the supervision of licensed clinical psychologists and licensed mental health professionals.
- Supervision of healthcare interventions and medication management by a consulting physician, consulting psychiatrists and nursing professionals.
- On-site 24-hour nursing services.

Educational Services

Oakwood Treatment Center is committed to providing high-quality education services to our residents while they engage in treatments.

To that end, all individuals under our care attend Five Points Educational Center, which is a year-round, registered non-public school located on our PRTF campus that also operates a certified special education program.

Through our wide range of solutions, including clinical care teams, versatile intake and referral practices and a better system of communication and transparency between treatment teams and community stakeholders, we are increasing the efficiency and efficacy of treatment.

Treatment

Utilizing psychiatric services, we provide residents with an individualized care plan that is mapped to their baseline and goals. Each care journey is regularly reviewed to ensure strong engagement and improvement that fosters stability in residents’ lives.

Intake

Our referral-to-admission process is more accessible to families, emergency rooms and outpatient providers through better communication and transparency across the board. Family members and designated caretakers can engage our teams through expanded hours to assist teens in crisis.

Quality and Risk Management

As we manage and develop short-term residential treatment plans, we assess and implement data points on safety and quality, which are critical to our culture and organizational commitment to operational and regulatory compliance.
